GENTLEMEN'S CODE

The delegates are expected to behave with the dignity of an ambassador.

Dressing is to be done professionally and in such a way that it conveys dignity in relation to the represented organization.

This may be done in either western-style suits and ties or eastern styles. Dignity in posture, bearing, and conduct is also a requirement.

It should be kept in mind that the delegates represent their nations or organizations.

Delegates will show respect and tolerance for people from all backgrounds, cultures, and viewpoints.

The right to privacy and personal space should always be respected. Offensive language, cultural insensitivity, bullying, harassment, discrimination, or personal attack is not allowed.

Delegates will always use appropriate language when speaking or writing. Abusive language will not be accepted. Delegates will be aware of their personal space and not behave in such a way as to make others feel uncomfortable.

All forms of bullying, pressuring, or threatening behavior are contrary to diplomatic procedures and can lead to instant expulsion from the negotiations.

Disputes between delegates are expected to be settled through discussion and persuasion rather than aggression.

Aggressive behavior, whether physical, verbal, or emotional, against another delegate, member of the Secretariat, Directorate, or conference staff is strictly prohibited.

The delegates are expected to address all proceedings in a polite and courteous manner.

Yelling, interrupting, or dominating the discussion by use of loud speech is considered rude behavior.

The delegates are required to behave in a manner that befits their diplomatic role, especially during heated discussions.

Delegates should attend all committee meetings on time and follow the set schedule of the conference.

Delegates should address the Dais with respect since it is the custodian of the debate.

Professionalism is necessary in behavior both in and out of committee meetings, since it represents the institution the delegates belong to.

Delegates are supposed to cooperate with the Secretariat, Directorate, ACDs, Chairs, and all other members of the management.

Non-cooperation will lead to warnings and eventual disqualification from the conference.

Delegates should wear delegate ID badges during the whole period of the conference.

Delegates are supposed to be present and punctual in the conference. Noncompliance to the set schedule may lead to suitable punishments.

The talks that take place within the committee are supposed to be taken seriously and carefully.

There shall be no leaks of confidential information that are talked about in the conference, whether through talks or writing of draft resolutions.

Any misappropriation of information, whether spoken or written, for personal gain and/or against another delegate is not allowed.

Any confidential information should not be revealed to any outsiders to the conference.

The use of mobile phones, cameras, or laptops during formal committee sessions is not allowed except when explicitly authorized by the management.

Speeches are to be made without the help of electronic gadgets.

The delegates are forbidden to take photographs or videos within committee chambers without prior permission of the management.

The delegates are required to report to the Secretariat or the members of the management if they want to be exempted from being photographed or videotaped during the conference.

No audiovisual, photographic, or graphic material such as drawings shall be taken without prior permission of the management.

Lobbying shall only occur at designated times and in designated spaces.

Any attempt to lobby in a manner that circumvents fairness shall be considered a breach of the Code and may affect awards.

Delegates must maintain a respectful distance and composure during unmoderated caucuses to ensure orderly and safe interaction.

The possession or use of electronic smoking devices, tobacco, or any nicotine-related substance is strictly prohibited on the premises.

Delegation fees must be paid in full before the commencement of the conference. Failure to comply may result in restriction from participation.

Pre-drafted resolutions and directives are strictly forbidden. All documents must originate from a genuine debate within the committee. Any violation will result in severe sanctions.

Delegates shall remain in character throughout the conference and shall faithfully represent the position of their assigned country or institution, regardless of their personal beliefs or opinions.

Delegates must ensure that personal views do not interfere with their responsibility to accurately represent their assigned position.
